Ocean Supercenter, Mawlamyine

            Ocean Supercenter is Myanmar's first and largest shopping center chain, first opening in the country's capital, Yangon in 2006. The Mawlamyine branch of Ocean Supercenter first opened in 2016, and is the town's first ever, fully air conditioned hypermart shopping mall. On the first floor are retailed shops selling quality mobile cellular phones, watches, designer clothes amongst other items. The second floor is a hypermarket, selling everything from locally made clothes, to toys, food items and groceries. Many of the groceries items are imported from other Asian countries including Thailand, Malaysia and Indoensia. The prices in the hypermart are comparable and in some instances, cheaper than what is sold from the traditional local provisions shop. For those looking for imported food such as cheese, chocolates and cereals, for example, this to the place to go.
